Upside Down House, Sliema / Malta
The transformation of the listed Maltese townhouse combines a contemporary rooftop extension with the sensitive refurbishment and repair of the external facades. The potential of two new terraces on the unused roof led to the concept of upside down living, with kitchen, dining and living area all relocated to the open plan top floor.

The project won two of Malta’s Architecture Awards, awarded by an international jury under the Patronage of the President. The scheme was designed by Feldmann Architects; Model Architects were in charge of planning permission, technical design and construction through to completion.
